Foam Filled Tanks
There is no inconvenience of site excavation or visual impact to the property. The tank is pumped out, triple rinsed and then polyurethane foam is injected into the tank through the filler pipe. The liquid mixture conforms to the shape of the tank as it expands and hardens, it finds its way into voids and pipelines. The vent and fill pipes are cut off below grade and plugged. The polyurethane foam is inert, solid and cannot be dissolved. It resists shrinkage or swelling with age. the removal of the tank, if ever required is less complicated than slurry since the polyurethane foam is relatively light in weight. Abandoning a tank in place is generally less expensive than having it removed from underground. Filling the tank will prevent future collapse of the tank and any structure above the tank.

It’s good for the environment.
A typical home that converts to natural gas heating will emit up to 40% less Co2 and up to 99.9% less sulfur dioxide – two major contributors to climate change and acid rain. Converting also reduces emissions that deplete the ozone and contribute to respiratory illnesses like asthma. One home converting to natural gas will take up to 183,000 pounds of carbon dioxide from the environment. That’s like taking six cars off the street for a year.

It’s good for the country.
Most natural gas – 97.3% of it – come from North America. Today the Northeast relies on foreign oil for 90% of its energy needs. If every community converted to natural gas we could reduce our country’s  use of petroleum products by up to seven billion gallons per year.
It makes financial sense.
Since new gas equipment is more efficient, you’ll use less energy and save money on heating costs. You’ll get rid of the oil tank, and all its associated hazards and liabilities. No more worrying about fuel deliveries – you’ll have a constant supply of energy to your home. And besides, converting to natural gas is an investment that can increase the value of your home.
